My family and i went to the 2007 air show and we loved everything about it, especially the fighter jets. You can't miss it!

This air show is alot of fun and is very enjoyable. I have attended this with my family and kids in the past. The only problem I have experienced was the extreme heat a few years ago. I had my small children and wife with me and my wife started to become ill because of the heat. We decided to leave after a few hours of being there and when we got in line to leave we were not allowed out if the base. They directed traffic only one way--into the base--and no way out. We sat in our SUV for 3 hours waiting to get out of the base, my son crying, my wife vomiting out the window, and do you think we could get anyone to even help us? My wife got so sick when I tried to get help from people working the event all I got was a shrug. I ended up calling 911 because my wife was so sick, it took the ambulance 20 minutes to arrive because they were trying to go the oposite way in traffic and advised us when they finally got to us that they were stopped by personnel so more vehicles can be allowed in to park. My wife was taken to the hospital and treated for heat exhaustion. All in all it took 90 minutes to get my wife to the ER, because to people it was more important to the personnel to direct traffic in than it was to get a sick woman out. By the way the ambulance had the emergency equipment activated and working, but it seems as though the personnel at Selfridge need some assistance themselves. I doubt that we will attend this event this year unless it's like 60 degrees.

We attend Willow Run Air Show each year, and in 2007 was my first time at Selfridge, and wow what a great time and experience. We were able to walk through several planes, talk to several crew members, and just had an outstanding time. We will be attending the 2009 event and all future ones, as it’s a great time to see the planes, and
you get a chance to interact with some crew members, and get a bit of a feel for what they do all year long.

You must remember that the word convenience is not in any military dictionary, except for serving at the convenience of the President.
