Earth and Moon: The Movie

A little perspective from NASA’s Jupiter-bound Juno spacecraft

It's not much to look at -- until you realize what's happening.

On its October 9 flyby of Earth (to gain a boost toward Jupiter), NASA's Juno spacecraft captured a scene no one has witnessed before, or not like this -- the moon orbiting the Earth.  The "movie" was created from images taken by a star tracker camera, so it isn't the best quality. But like other spacecraft views of a distant Earth, it offers us something priceless: perspective.
