Thousands crowded the National Mall and gathered all over D.C. and Northern Virginia to watch the World War II flyover earlier today. C-SPAN took video of the 45-minute event, including narration from the official program at the World War II Memorial, which you can watch here. One aircraft made an emergency landing at nearby Reagan National Airport, but reports say that no one was hurt.

You can read all about the aircraft that participated in the flyover, find out how a huge event like this in restricted airspace gets planned, see 360-degree views of WWII warbird cockpits, download spotter cards, and read all the VE Day anniversary stories in our official Flyover Guide.
