Microsoft Flight Simulator has been out for years. There are many users, some are even licensed pilots. Has there ever been a recorded case or study done on user's of this program experiencing vertigo? The advanced UAV systems (GA-ASI Predator) have an autopilot and flight director available at the push of a button should the operator pilot need it. That with loss of link capability provide adequate safe guards to avoid most if not all areomedical effects. Is vertigo really considered an issue for the UAV operator?

I can only speak for my own anecdotal experience, but having played with flight sims for years before I ever started flying a real plane, I definitely managed to give myself vertigo a few times. Sometimes it's something as simple as absent-mindedly bouncing a leg up and down that's enough to cause some spatial disorientation. Next thing you know, your inner ear is telling you that the floor is in a 20 degree left bank, while your eyes and the sim tell you something completely different.

Hey yeah I'm getting vertigo just reading about vertigo!!
