More than a year before Alan Shepard’s first launch, the Little Joe 1B shot included a passenger: a rhesus monkey named Miss Sam, who was recovered safely half an hour after launch.

Thanks for the article & photos about the history & role of Nasa's Wallops. Flight Facility. Its role in suppoting cargo missions to the Space Station.
