Inspired by our colleagues over at Smithsonian, who aim to answer the burning question “Who Had the Best Civil War Facial Hair,” we decided to run our own contest: Who Has the Worst Zero-Gravity Hair?”

Dan Brandenstein (here on STS-49 in 1992, aboard Endeavour) retired from NASA in 1992 after four shuttle flights. He’s now executive vice president and chief operating officer for United Space Alliance, the company that operates the shuttle for NASA.
