P-38 Lightning

airspacemag.com

With its distinctive twin-boom design, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning was the most recognizable U.S. fighter in World War II, and accounted for more Japanese aircraft losses than any other American warplane. The P‑38L on display at the Erickson Aircraft Collection was manufactured in 1944 and restored in the late 1990s.
