Flying Vintage Tail Draggers

Carolyn Bistline writes: Having a great love for aviation, the sky, and a tremendous respect for flying, I think that flying the vintage tail draggers, with the wind in your hair, and goggles on, is about the best it can get for a pilot.

The sound of the engine, the feel of the stick in your hand, and the open air view, is what makes the feeling of having the wind beneath your wings a true reality.

Read your article on loser X-Planes, in the late 40's or early 50's I worked on the Republic F-103 & F-105, the air frame of the 103 was completed, waiting for power plant, I think it was a GE rocket engine, I think the speed was supposed to be 6,000 mph. are there any pictures of this magnificent airplane. as I remember, the cockpit was in a capsule, that went up like an elevator, the bottom, to form the outer skin of the plane
