Beijing's Kongjing No.1
Qiao Zhe of Beijing, China writes: Kongjing (early warning) No.1 was serviced in PLAAF (People Liberation Army Air Force) in the 1970s. China bought a bomber, TU-4, from the Soviet Union and then modified it as an airborne early warning aircraft (The disc radar has been removed in this picture). The Soviet Union got a B-29 accidentally at the end of WWII and then copied out its own TU-4. This aircraft is now kept in China Aviation Museum near Beijing. This picture was taken on Nov.15 2009, the 60th anniversary of PLAAF.
