Launching Curiosity
Chase Clark of Pensacola, Florida writes: NASA may have retired the space shuttles, but America's exploration of space continues. An Atlas V 541 rocket launched the Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity toward Mars from Florida's Space Coast during the morning of Nov. 26, 2011. This launch image was captured from a Canon 7D camera with a sound-activated trigger set up less than 625 feet away from the rocket as it rose off the launchpad.
