Dissecting Discovery
Julian Leek of Melbourne Beach, Florida writes: First we flew them with pride, then alas we had to ground them out of safety concerns. Continued to gut them of all usable parts and make them safe. In this photo the Forward Reaction Control System Module is being lowered back onto DISCOVERY's nose. All wires fuel cells and related systems have been made inert. So these ladies can be taken to their respected museums and once again shown off with the pride that they deserve.
