Jeff D. Welker of Mesa, Arizona writes: A 1961 aerial photograph my father, Dale R. Welker, took of the Arizona Air National Guard base at Sky Harbor. He was in charge of the photo lab and part of the 197th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. At this time, F-104 Starfighters were the primary aircraft of the 197th. This base has been changed its role and now provides aerial refueling support. The photograph is looking west/southwest. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is on the right side of the image just out of the frame.
