Enterprise ca. 1979 Pt. 2
Gary W. Jones of St. Cloud, Florida writes: This image was taken in 1979 with my Mamiya rb67 on color negative film during a public viewing of the
Enterprise
at Kennedy Space Center. On April 10, 1979, the
Enterprise
was ferried to the Kennedy Space Center. There the shuttle was mated with the external tank and solid rocket boosters then transported via the mobile launcher platform to Launch Complex 39-A. Once at Launch Complex 39-A, the
Enterprise
served as a practice and launch complex fit-check verification tool representing the flight vehicles.
