Plane-Spotting in 2012
If you're facing a layover in the Zurich airport, scope out the new Airport Scopes on Dock B. Airplane spotters at major fields have long made a game of identifying different aircraft types on the runway. Now, the telescopes on a new 750-foot observation deck help take away a spotter's guesswork by overlaying data fed live from the Zurich tower. The information includes the airplane type, destination, and point of origin. Inside the terminal, younger visitors will find a playground with air travel motifs, such as a carousel in the shape of helicopter blades.
