A Shuttle in Mali
With all the space shuttle celebration this week, it seemed like a good time to run this fun image. We stumbled across the photo on Facebook and asked the photographer, Susana Moliner, about it. She found this scene in Bamako, Mali, and the space shuttle is painted on a container used to boil tea. Dakar, the capital of Senegal, Mali's neighbor, used to be a shuttle abort site, so it's possible that pressed some extra NASA influence in the region. Or maybe the tea makers are just space travel fans on their own. Either way, let's have a cup and toast to Discovery's long life, shall we?
