New Team to the ISS
Today, the rest of Expedition 34 is leaving Earth on a Soyuz capsule headed to the International Space Station. NASA's Tom Marshburn, Canada's Chris Hadfield and Russia's Roman Romenenko will join NASA's Kevin Ford and cosmonauts Oleg Novitskly and Evgeny Tarelkin, who arrived at the station in late October and whose launch is pictured above. We love that after so many launches, NASA's Bill Ingalls can still find a new, breathtaking angle to capture these moments.

The exhaust plume that is to the left of the launch platform is quite "dusty brown". Do the Russians cool the rocket exhaust with water sprays to protect the launch equipment or just direct into a dry trench and deflector? Thanks Fred
