A Different Airplane Bomb
Sometimes a DC-3 is just sitting there, looking kind of chilly. Next think you know: bam. Your airplane's got a sweater. Yarn Bomb Yukon is a Canadian art collective founded to "actively promote fibre arts through yarn bombing inanimate objects and offering workshops...to the public." Casey McLaughlin, the director and curator at the Yukon Transportation Museum called the bombers and asked if they'd turn the DC-3 sitting out front into a public art project. YBY gathered 100 people to knit, sew, and crochet a giant aviation coozy in August. The group is always looking for non-profits all over North America to team up with, so if you have something to "bomb," drop them a line.
