Documenting the View From the Road, er, Orbit
Like many space visitors before him -- including astronaut and Air & Space blogger Don Pettit -- current International Space Station commander Chris Hadfield has been thoroughly documenting the view of Earth below. Thanks to the installation of the station's cupola in 2010 and the advent of tweeting from space, those of us stuck here on the ground get to enjoy tons of new images almost every day. Hadfield in particular has been tweeting up a storm, including joking around with Star Trek celebrities, and answering lots of questions from the public. He published the above image yesterday, saying, "Humans need straight lines, nature doesn't. Indecisive river and orderly farmers, central Asia."
