Gecko Dust and Stars
This "strange gecko-shaped dark cloud" is Barnard 86, according to the European Southern Observatory, which just published this image taken with their telescope at La Silla Observatory in Chile. The star cluster is NGC 6520, and the "cosmic pair is set against millions of glowing stars from the brightest part of the Milky Way -- a region so dense with stars that barely any dark sky is seen across the picture."
