Light It Up
Flares light up the sky from a C-130 Hercules, part of the 107th Airlift Wing. As the U.S. Air Force explains, "A flare is an aerial infrared countermeasure to counter and infrared homing, heat seeking, surface-to air or air-to-air missile."
