Channel Crosser

A Blériot XI monoplane named "The Daily Mail," piloted by Henri Salmet, flies low along the beach at Nice, France, on January 8, 1914. Created by Louis Blériot, the XI was the first airplane ever to cross the English Channel, with Blériot at the controls, four and a half years earlier. Within two months he received a hundred orders for the airplane.
