A thousand years ago, a supernova created the Crab Nebula and left behind a bizarre cosmic object: a neutron star. NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope took this image, showing the blasts of radiation pushing outward as the star, which is the size of a large city but with the mass of 1.5 suns, spins 30 times a second.
