This photograph of the crew of the CAF's B-17G Flying Fortress "Texas Raiders" was a finalist in the 2015 Air & Space Photo Contest.

Our photo contest is now closed. Finalists will be posted shortly.

Outstanding photography has been a hallmark of Air & Space / Smithsonian magazine since the magazine was founded. For every issue, we review hundreds of photographs to select the best ones to help tell a story in aviation or space history, or just make readers say Wow. Now it’s your turn. If you’ve photographed a favorite airplane at an airshow in the past three years; if you’ve snapped a picture to help you remember a moment in your own history with airplanes or spacecraft; if you’ve taken an image of the stars, we’d like to see your photographs. More importantly, if they make us say Wow, we’d like to show them off—and we’ll pay for the privilege.

If you are 18 years old or older, you can enter your photographs in any of our four categories—Military, Civilian, People & Planes, Astronomy—and compete to win cash prizes. Winning photographs will appear in the magazine and on our website. Review our contest rules and list of frequently asked questions, then send us your best shots.

Photographs must have been taken between January 1, 2013, and November 1, 2016. The contest is open until November 6, 2016, midnight, EST.
