A “ring” around the nearly full moon in the early morning hours of Oct. 27, 2015 in Shippensburg, PA. The optical phenomena is formed by moonlight refracting through hexagonal ice crystals high in the atmosphere resulting in a circle with a radius of approximately 22 degrees.
