2nd Annual Air & Space Photo Contest
Ring of Fire

"I photographed an annular eclipse in San Diego in 1992," says Baird. "When the 2012 event appeared on my radar, I wondered where it would be total at sunset. After consulting a NASA map, I decided that western Texas would be a great spot because my parents could meet me, and we could make a road trip out of the event. I photographed this in Bluit, New Mexico, which is about 5 miles west of Bledsoe, Texas."
