Aircraft crash during air show performance

During the 2014 Thunder Over Solano air show at Travis Air Force Base, the pilot in a 1944 Stearman biplane was performing an inverted manuever and pancaked into the run way. Tragically, he died before the base fire crew arrived. The remainder of the air show was canceled for the 85,000 attendees.
