NACA Founded 100 Years Ago
NASA’s predecessor made aeronautical breakthroughs that changed the course of aviation history.
Today, NASA is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, or NACA.
From 1915 through 1958, when it transitioned into the National Aeronautics and Space Admistration we know today, researchers at NACA developed major breakthroughs that made modern jet and space flight possible. Below you can watch a 14-minute video narrated by Bill Barry, NASA’s chief historian, released today on the centennial.
