Ten miles from downtown Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River

My kind of town is Blawnox. Situated 10 miles from downtown Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River. Blawnox was a mill town. Where mill workers used to stop at "Emma's" on their to work for breakfast and a packed lunch. Then stop on their way home from the mill for a shot and a beer. The mill has long since closed and antique shops have taken over. Local family-owned businesses line the main street. It looks like a little village and could be easily used as a back drop for 1950's small town America.

My kind of town where people smile and say hello when you pass them on the street. Where people are willing to go out of their way to give you hand.
